Labor Day weekend, welcome September
We had a pretty low-key Labor Day weekend, it was nice. We met some Bocce friends at the Nats game on Friday night after work. Olivia had gotten a tip that Strasburg was going to be back pitching that night so we all got tickets, but sadly they debuted him on Tuesday which is random. The game was quick and the last with some pretty bad plays, but we had a good time. Not much beats nice fall weather, good friends and shake shack! We stayed for the fireworks after.
We’ve had a ton of rain and finally some cool weather, so its been really nice here. Saturday and Sunday we were pretty lazy and enjoyed the couch and countless episodes of Medium – perfect for rainy days. Sunday we were lucky to hear from our friend Andrew, that we actually met very randomly in Seattle when we were on our honeymoon. He was in DC visiting other friends so we got to meet up for dinner on Barracks Row. We literally met him walking down town and just struck up conversation. We’ve been facebook friends since. It was nice to meet such a genuine person and see a little social networking come to life!
We’re getting closer to England! 3 weeks! Yikes. So I tried on my dress on monday…and it BARELY zipped. That’s right. I’m happily married and have the weight to show it! Oh dear. Jono can just rent a new tux (Tails if he gets his way!), no big deal! So a little more exercise and a little more diligent about my eating habits should have me back to feeling good for the dress. It fits, it’s just very uncomfortable when it wasn’t before. Ugh. Molly and I are going to try hot yoga Sunday which is supposed to be super healthy and burns a lot of calories in a short time. I’m a little nervous about it, they say its normal to feel dizzy, nauseous or even pass out your first time! Other than that, wedding plans are getting finalized. Menu is set, flowers should be chosen, I think music is chosen, we’re working on the cake, but this is the design I like. Easy, simple but still pretty.
Work is going well for both of us. Jono signed 2 big deals yesterday – one with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). No big deal, they just have 350 job postings per month and run ALL DC buses and metro. 🙂 My work is going well too, getting ready for my big meeting that I’m doing most of the promotions for in San Diego Oct. 23-26. I’m also doing a lot to help redesign our website, CE.org so next week is full of 3 hour meetings where we will be meeting with CMS vendors and hopefully picking a new one then on Thursday we get to see the design concepts that our firm has come up with for the new site, very exciting. we’ve been working on this since about February and hope to have it done by the end of the year, but it may take a little longer.
Here are a few fun pictures of Zoey enjoying the football this weekend. What a nut.
